History
The founders of the sorority are Patricia Perez, Maria Alcocer, and
Evelyn Greenfield. The decision date to organize Mu Epsilon Theta
was October 21, 1986. This was the Alpha Class of the Alpha
Chapter. Mu Epsilon Theta was founded as a local sorority.
On January 16, 1987, The University of Texas at Austin
officially recognized Mu Epsilon Theta Sorority as an official UT
Organization.
Mu Epsilon theta was formed on Catholic principles
to unite college women by promoting academics, leadership, community
service, moral and spiritual well-being.
The motto is "Our Strength is from Above." Our colors are black, yellow and silver. The stones are onyx, topaz, and diamond. The flower is the yellow rose. The mascot is the lamb and our Patron Saint is Saint Catherine of Leboure. The founders started with a dream, and through God's guidance, it became a reality. |
